One Triggers Other
a.k.a. OTO, If-done order
A linked order where a second order only goes live after the first one fills.
In plain English
A linked order where a second order only goes live after the first one fills.
A one triggers other (OTO) order is a domino setup. The first order sits waiting; the second does nothing until the first fills, then it springs to life. For example: "buy at 1.2500, and once that fills, place a sell limit at 1.2600."
It lets you plan a whole trade in advance and walk away from the screen. Many platforms combine it with OCO so an entry triggers both a stop-loss and a take-profit that cancel each other.
