Position Trading
a.k.a. Position trader
A long-term trading style where you hold trades for weeks, months or longer to ride major trends.
In plain English
A long-term trading style where you hold trades for weeks, months or longer to ride major trends.
Position trading is the slow lane. Instead of grabbing a few pips in minutes, position traders form a big-picture view, often from fundamentals like interest-rate trends, and hold for weeks or months. Daily and weekly charts are their home.
They need wide stops, small position sizes and a lot of patience to sit through pullbacks. Daily noise matters less to them, but swap costs (or earnings) add up over long holds.
