A schedule of upcoming economic data releases, central bank meetings and events, with forecasts and past results.
An economic calendar lists what is coming and when: jobs reports, inflation, rate decisions, speeches. Each entry usually shows the previous figure, the forecast and, once released, the actual result, plus an importance rating.
Check it before you trade. Spreads widen and prices can jump dozens of pips in seconds when big numbers drop, and many traders choose to step aside around them.
Opening a trade a minute before a major release without even knowing it is due.
