An automated trading program that runs inside the MetaTrader platform and can open and manage trades by itself.
An expert advisor (EA) is MetaTrader's name for a trading bot. It reads prices, applies its rules and sends orders without you clicking.
EAs are widely sold online with dazzling backtests and promises. Be very sceptical: many are curve-fitted to the past or outright scams. If someone had a money machine, selling it to you for a fee would be an odd choice. See algorithmic trading.
