Parabolic
a.k.a. Parabolic move, Going parabolic
A price move that steepens faster and faster until the chart is nearly vertical.
A move goes parabolic when it does not just rise, it accelerates. Each leg up is steeper than the last until the chart looks like a ski jump turned on its end. You see it in bubbles, short squeezes and crypto manias, driven by FOMO and forced buying.
Parabolic moves rarely end gently. When the last buyer is in, there is nobody left to keep it going, and the drop can be as violent as the climb.
Buying a near-vertical chart because "it only goes up". Late buyers in a parabolic move are the fuel for the crash.
