Tweezer Bottom
a.k.a. Tweezer bottoms
Two candles with matching lows after a decline, hinting that the market found a floor.
In plain English
Two candles with matching lows after a decline, hinting that the market found a floor.
A tweezer bottom forms when two neighbouring candles, typically a red one followed by a green one, hit almost exactly the same low. Sellers pushed price down twice to the same spot and both times got turned back, like the two tips of a pair of tweezers.
It is read as a possible bullish reversal, especially at known support. Its bearish twin at the top of a rise is the tweezer top.
