Bearish
a.k.a. Bear, Bear market
Like a bear: claws swiping downward, dragging the price to the floor.
In plain English
Expecting a price to fall. A bearish market, candle or trader leans toward lower prices.
To be bearish is to expect prices to drop. Bears sell, or go short. The image is a bear swatting downward with its paws.
A bearish candle closes lower than it opened. A bear market is a long, grinding fall. Its opposite is bullish.
Don’t be that stickman
Assuming falling prices are only bad news. In forex you can profit from a fall just as easily as from a rise, and lose just as easily too.
