The Aroon oscillator squeezes the two Aroon lines into one by taking Aroon Up minus Aroon Down. It swings between +100 and −100.
Readings well above zero mean fresh highs have been more recent than fresh lows, a sign of an uptrend. Well below zero means the reverse. Hovering near zero says nobody is in charge.
