In plain English

When a broker passes price moves that hurt you through to your fill, but keeps the moves that would have helped you.

Slippage is the gap between the price you asked for and the price you got. It can go either way. Asymmetric slippage is when it only seems to go against you: bad slippage lands on your account, good slippage quietly disappears.

That is an unfair practice, and regulators in several places have fined brokers for it. Honest execution should give you price improvement sometimes too. Your trade records are where you would spot the pattern.
