Bear Whale

a.k.a. Bear whales, BearWhale

A huge holder who dumps a massive amount of a coin, shoving its price down.
In plain English

A huge holder who dumps a massive amount of a coin, shoving its price down.

A bear whale is a whale, a holder big enough to move the market, who is selling. One giant sell order can smash through every buyer waiting in the order book, and the price falls off a ledge.

Sometimes they're just cashing out. Sometimes the aim is to scare smaller holders into panic-selling, so the whale can buy back cheaper. Either way, the chart takes a sharp, bearish hit, and in thinly traded coins one whale can do it alone.
