In plain English

When two things that were moving apart start moving together again, such as price and an indicator, or two prices for the same thing.

Convergence is the opposite of divergence. On a chart, it means price and an indicator are agreeing again. In futures, it means the futures price drifts toward the spot price as the contract nears expiry.

In economics, 'convergence' can also describe economies becoming more alike, as with countries preparing to join the euro.
