Ghanaian Cedi (GHS)
a.k.a. GHS, GHC, Cedi
Ghana's currency, now code GHS.
In plain English
Ghana's currency, now code GHS. The old code GHC was retired in 2007 when four zeros were removed.
The Ghanaian cedi was redenominated in 2007: 10,000 old cedis (GHC) became one new cedi (GHS). It has suffered bouts of sharp weakness, notably in 2022 during a debt crisis.
