Long Candle
a.k.a. Long day, Marubozu (no wicks)
A candlestick with a body much bigger than usual, showing a strong, one-sided move during that period.
In plain English
A candlestick with a body much bigger than usual, showing a strong, one-sided move during that period.
A long candle has a big body: price opened at one end and closed near the other. A long green candle shows buyers in charge; a long red one shows sellers dominating.
Long candles at the start of a move can signal real conviction; after an extended run, they can mark exhaustion. A long candle with no wicks at all is called a marubozu.
