Marubozu
a.k.a. Shaved candle
A candlestick with a big body and no wicks, showing one side bossed the market from open to close.
A marubozu is a candlestick with almost no wicks at all, just a solid block. The name is Japanese for something like "bald" or "close-cropped". A green (bullish) marubozu opened at its low and closed at its high: buyers grabbed control at the bell and never let go. A red one is the mirror image, sellers stamping on price the whole session.
It is a sign of raw conviction. It does not promise the next candle will follow through, but it tells you who was winning the tug-of-war during that period.
