OpenSea is a marketplace for NFTs, launched in 2017. Think of it as an auction site for digital items: you connect your wallet, browse collections, and buy, sell or bid on art, collectibles, game items and more across several blockchains.
It rode the 2021 NFT boom to huge volumes, then faced tougher times and stiffer competition as the market cooled. As with any marketplace, fake copies of popular collections pop up, so check you're buying the real thing.
