A presale is the VIP entrance to a token launch. Before a project opens to the public, it sells tokens to early investors, often at a lower price. The money funds development, and buyers hope the price will be higher once the token hits exchanges.
Presales are also where many scams live. Tokens can be locked for months, the project may never launch, or insiders may dump on public buyers on day one. Treat every presale pitch with heavy suspicion.
