Quote
a.k.a. Price quote, Quotation
The current price of a currency pair or asset, usually shown as a bid and an ask.
In plain English
The current price of a currency pair or asset, usually shown as a bid and an ask.
A quote is what the market is telling you a thing costs right now. In forex it comes as two prices: the bid (what you can sell at) and the ask (what you can buy at), for example EUR/USD 1.0850/1.0852. The gap is the spread.
Quotes can be firm, meaning you can trade on them, or indicative, meaning they are just a guide. In fast markets, quotes can change between your click and your fill.
