Range
a.k.a. Trading range, Price range
The band between the high and low a price moves within, or a market stuck bouncing between a floor and a ceiling.
A range has two meanings. Strictly, it is the distance between the high and low over a period: "EUR/USD had a 60-pip range today". More commonly, it describes a market that is stuck, bouncing between a support floor and a resistance ceiling without trending either way.
Ranges are a market catching its breath while buyers and sellers are evenly matched. They end with a breakout, and the longer a range lasts, the more stop orders pile up just outside it.
