Round Trip
a.k.a. Round turn
A complete trade: opening a position and then closing it.
In plain English
A complete trade: opening a position and then closing it.
A round trip is the full journey of a trade, in and out. Buy 1 lot, later sell 1 lot: that is one round trip. Brokers often quote commissions "per round trip" (sometimes "round turn"), meaning one fee covers both ends.
It is worth checking whether a quoted commission is per side or per round trip, because it is easy to underestimate costs by half.
