Speculating

Buying or selling something to profit from a price change, rather than because you need or want the thing itself.
Speculating means trading for the price move. A company buying euros to pay a supplier is hedging or simply doing business. A trader buying euros because they think the euro will rise is speculating.
Speculators get blamed in every crisis, but they also provide much of the liquidity that lets businesses trade easily. Most retail forex trading is speculation, so it pays to be honest with yourself about that: you are taking risk in search of reward.
