In plain English
The trader who hits an existing price to make a deal happen right now, instead of waiting for someone to come to them.
Every trade has two sides: someone resting a price and someone who grabs it. The aggressor is the grabber. They send a market order (or a marketable limit) and cross the spread to buy at the offer or sell at the bid.
Aggressors pay for speed. They give up the spread to get filled now. In electronic markets, watching which side the aggressors are on shows who is in a hurry, and hurry is often information.
