Camarilla Pivot Points

a.k.a. Camarilla pivots

A set of eight intraday support and resistance levels calculated from the previous day's high, low and close.
In plain English

A set of eight intraday support and resistance levels calculated from the previous day's high, low and close.

Camarilla pivot points take yesterday's range and close and, using fixed multipliers, spit out four levels above (R1–R4) and four below (S1–S4). They sit closer to price than standard pivot points, which suits short-term traders.

A common approach is to fade moves at the inner levels (expecting a bounce) and treat a break of the outer levels (R4, S4) as the start of a breakout. They are maths, not magic; they matter partly because enough traders watch them.
