In plain English
A group of developing countries formed in 1989 to cooperate on trade and development; its membership has since grown beyond fifteen.
The G15 was set up by developing nations, including India, Brazil, Egypt and Indonesia, to coordinate positions on trade and investment and push for a bigger voice in global talks.
It has a much lower profile than the G20 and rarely affects markets.
