In plain English

A group of industrial countries that cooperate on finance; in trading, 'G10 currencies' means the ten most traded developed-world currencies.

The original Group of Ten formed in the 1960s to lend to the IMF; it actually has eleven members since Switzerland joined. Its central bank governors meet through the BIS.

On trading desks, 'G10 FX' means the big ten: US dollar, euro, yen, pound, Swiss franc, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand dollars, Swedish krona and Norwegian krone. Everything else tends to be called EM or exotic.
