Gemini is a crypto exchange founded in 2014 by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss and based in New York. It has leaned hard on being regulated, operating under New York's financial regulator, and it offers buying and selling, custody and its own stablecoin, the Gemini Dollar.
It was caught up in the 2022 crypto crash through its "Earn" lending product, which relied on the lender Genesis, part of Digital Currency Group. When Genesis froze withdrawals, Earn customers were left waiting a long time for their money.
