Mine and Yours
a.k.a. Mine, Yours
Old trading-floor shorthand: "mine" means I buy at your price, "yours" means I sell at your price.
On a dealing floor with phones ringing and people shouting, nobody has time for full sentences. So traders use "mine" and "yours". When a dealer quotes you a price and you shout "mine!", you have just bought at their offer: the currency is now yours, it is "mine". Shout "yours!" and you have sold at their bid: you are handing it over.
One word, a deal done, often for millions. That is why the words must be crisp and why getting them backwards is a career-shortening mistake.
