Swedish Krona

a.k.a. SEK, Swedish Kronor

Sweden's currency, sensitive to European growth and global risk mood.
In plain English

Sweden's currency, sensitive to European growth and global risk mood.

The Swedish krona (SEK, plural kronor) is Sweden's money. It mostly trades against the euro as EUR/SEK and against the dollar as USD/SEK. Sweden is a small, open, export-driven economy, so the krona tends to weaken when global growth or risk appetite falters, and strengthen when they recover. Traders nicknamed it "Stocky".

It is set by the Riksbank. Liquidity is thinner than the majors, so moves can be jumpy.
