Timeframe
a.k.a. Time frame, 1m, 30m, 1H, Daily (D), Weekly (1W), 30d
The period each candle or bar on a chart represents, like one minute (1m), one hour (1H), one day (D) or one week (1W).
A chart's timeframe is how much time each candle squeezes in. On a 1-minute (1m) chart, every candle is one minute of trading; on a 1-hour (1H) chart, an hour; on a daily (D) chart, a full day; on a weekly (1W) chart, a week. Price sites also show performance over spans like 24 hours or 30 days (30d).
Same coin, very different stories. A 1m chart can look like a heart monitor in a panic while the weekly chart shows a calm, steady trend. Short timeframes suit fast traders and are full of noise; long ones suit patient holders. Crypto trades around the clock, so a crypto "daily" candle usually closes at midnight UTC rather than at a stock market's closing bell.
Staring at the 1-minute chart and panicking over moves that barely show up on the daily.
