TradFi is short for "traditional finance", the world of banks, stock markets, bond desks and regulated brokers. Crypto people use it to contrast with DeFi, decentralized finance that runs on blockchains without banks in the middle.
The line keeps blurring. Big asset managers now offer crypto funds such as bitcoin ETFs, and crypto firms increasingly look like regulated financial companies.
