Treasury Notes
a.k.a. T-notes, 10-year Treasury
US government debt maturing in 2 to 10 years, including the 10-year note, the world's most watched interest rate.
Treasury notes (T-notes) are medium-term US government debt, issued with terms from 2 to 10 years and paying interest every six months. The 10-year note's yield is arguably the most important number in global finance: it influences mortgage rates, company borrowing costs and how stocks are valued.
The 2-year note is very sensitive to expected Fed policy. When its yield jumps relative to other countries' 2-year yields, the dollar often strengthens.
