Data Center
a.k.a. Data centre, Mining farm
A building packed with computers, power and cooling, used to run servers or crypto mining at scale.
In plain English
A building packed with computers, power and cooling, used to run servers or crypto mining at scale.
A data center is a warehouse of computers: racks of machines humming in rows, fed by heavy power lines and kept from overheating by industrial cooling.
Big crypto miners run their own versions, sometimes called mining farms, filled with roaring ASIC machines. Electricity is the biggest cost, so they hunt for cheap power, which is why mining often moves to wherever energy is cheapest and rules are friendliest.
