The monthly US jobs report, home of the non-farm payrolls number and the unemployment rate.
The Employment Situation Report, from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, usually lands on the first Friday of the month. It includes non-farm payrolls (jobs added outside farming), the unemployment rate and average hourly earnings.
It is one of the biggest scheduled events in forex. Dollar pairs can whip dozens of pips in seconds, spreads widen and revisions to earlier months can change the story completely.
Trading the first spike after the release, only to see it reverse within minutes as traders digest the details.
