Network

a.k.a. Blockchain network

All the computers running a blockchain's software and talking to each other to keep its shared ledger up…
In plain English

All the computers running a blockchain's software and talking to each other to keep its shared ledger up to date.

In crypto, the network is everyone running a blockchain's software at once: thousands of nodes passing transactions and blocks back and forth, peer to peer, with no central server. "The Bitcoin network" means all of those machines together.

It also matters in a very practical way when you move coins. Many tokens exist on several networks at once, and an exchange will ask which one you want to send on. Pick a network the receiving wallet doesn't support, and your coins can end up stranded.

Don’t be that stickman

Choosing the cheapest network in the withdrawal menu without checking that the receiving wallet or exchange supports it.
