QR Code
a.k.a. Quick response code
A square barcode that phones can scan, used in crypto to share wallet addresses without typing them.
In plain English
A square barcode that phones can scan, used in crypto to share wallet addresses without typing them.
A QR code is that square of black-and-white dots you scan with a phone camera. In crypto, wallets turn your long wallet address into a QR code so someone can scan it and pay you without retyping 40-odd characters.
Handy, but check what you scan. A fake QR code can point to an attacker's address or a phishing site. After scanning, compare the first and last few characters of the address with what you expect before you hit send.
